BOIL privacy policy
Last updated 2026-10-26 · Español
The short version
BOIL has no accounts and never asks for your name, email or location. Your progress stays on your phone. The game sends a small amount of anonymous data to run leaderboards and measure whether people come back. The ads you choose to watch are provided by Google, which collects data for advertising.
What stays on your device
Your scores, streaks, unlocked items, settings and the looks you bought are stored on your device only. Deleting the app deletes them.
Leaderboards
When a run sets your best for the day, the game sends its inputs (a replay), a random player id, a name generated from a word list (for example "Turbo Frog 42"), and the look you wear. Our server replays the run to compute the score. The random id is derived from a secret kept on your device and is not linked to you, your device or any other app. Leaderboard entries and replays are deleted after 30 days.
Anonymous statistics
Once a day the game reports how many runs, shares and similar actions happened that day, the day the game was installed, the platform and the language. The report carries a random value that changes every day, so reports cannot be linked to each other or to you. You can turn this off in the wardrobe ("Anonymous stats").
Ads (Google AdMob)
Videos only play when you tap a button that offers one (for example to continue a run). They are served by Google AdMob, which may collect your device's advertising ID, app interactions and diagnostics to show and measure ads. Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA and the UK), you are asked for consent first. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
Purchases
Boutique looks are bought through Google Play. Google handles the payment; the game only learns which looks you own.
Notifications
If you turn on the daily reminder, it is scheduled on your phone. No server sends it and no push token is created.
Children
BOIL is intended for people aged 13 and over.
Where data is processed
The leaderboard and statistics server runs on Cloudflare. Requests pass through Cloudflare's network, which processes IP addresses to deliver them and protect the service; the game's server does not store them.
Contact
Questions or deletion requests: contact@neonwarestudio.com. Because leaderboard ids are random, include the name shown on the board and the date.
